I think there are people out there - like you - who can handle credit cards and make them work for them.

I couldn't do that three years ago. I've got a handle on my finances since then, have paid off all my credit card debt and now use a strict monthly budget for all my spending. Could I use a rewards card to its full advantage without getting in trouble? I'm not sure. My past experiences have made me very insecure about credit card usage. I often thought of credit cards as "free money" and never had a plan for paying them back.

So, like you said, they work for some people and don't work for others. I'm pretty in love with my cash-only system for now. :)
