I really like this post. Hobbies can be extremely expensive – my two favorites are traveling and golf, of which I currently have no vacation time to do the first and I have been too lazy to keep doing the 2nd one – mainly because I NEED lessons and those can be $40+ per hour. Soon, I will learn to knit and I am also turning cooking into a hobby. Apart from blogging… they can be pricey!

I thought the same thing about running when I first quit the gym and switched to road running, but having the right sneaks certainly makes a HUGE difference, even though they can be quite expensive, especially if you are racking up a lot of miles. And it’s definitely doing me more good than bad in the money stakes all the same – whenever I feel like going shopping I go for a good, long run and that kills the urge! Nice site btw

I will agree, hobbies can be very expensive. I love to read, but am lucky, because two of the women I work with love to read more than me, and donate me all their books, when they are done. I dont always have the same interest, so some I dont accept. I collect gemstones, a very expensive hobby, but I learned to make my own jewelry, so it actually saves money compared to buying the jewelry I love retail. Plus I sell some of it, so that helps with the cost. I love cross stitch, but that I have not had time for.
