Safeway is only a short walk away but it is was just too far to comfortably lug more than a few things. Using Peapod was a very economical alternative for me. It also helped me organize, as you explained. I would shop the sale items first and plan meals around what was in that week’s circular. I was constantly tweaking my list over the course of the week prior to my delivery and I only did it every other week so it forced me to plan ahead. I do love going to Trader Joes and Whole Foods now that I have my own transportation but I can definitely see myself going back to Peapod when I have children. I didn't price the delivery, but it's only $5 to pickup at the store. You just pull up front and they load the groceries into your car.
