One of the ways I joke that I save money is that I keep my hair very low maintenance. It's long - midway down my back - and curly. I almost never use a blow dryer on it. I wash it about twice a week with a cleansing conditioner and apply gel. That's it. I get it cut about twice a year.
But those days may be coming to an end. My hair is driving me crazy. It's too long. I have very thick hair and it's so heavy that when I pull it into a bun, it gives me a headache. So I have decided to take a big step.
I am getting a haircut at a new salon.
I realize most of you reading are thinking "Yeah, and?" But if there are any curly girls reading, you know the horror of bad haircuts. You've probably had one or five or ten. You've probably cried because your hair looks so awful. Yes, it's just hair, and yes, it will grow, but it's still a miserable feeling. Looking like a mop is not a good feeling.
So tomorrow night, I'm trying out a new salon that specializes in curly hair cuts. I'm going to turn my gorgeous hair over to them and hope to come out looking great. Cross your fingers for me!
