February 25, 2020 By Susan Paige Leave a Comment

Working from home appeals to a lot of people. It is a convenient way to earn money. Usually, these types of businesses are flexible enough to fit in around taking care of your family and other responsibilities.

There are many different approaches you could take. Today, we thought we would look at the idea of selling small products that most businesses need. In particular, those that rarely think about buying until they are prompted to do so. Below is one example.

Signs for business premises and workplaces

Most businesses use signs in their workplaces and retail outlets. Health and safety laws require them to do so. Signs are also used to remind workers of important things and help them to find their way around. Firms like mydoorsign.com sell thousands of signs every week.

Potentially, you could sell their products too. A lot of signage businesses run affiliate programs, that you could join. You just need to use a special link to send clients to their websites. If they place an order, you get paid a small percentage of the sale.

Or, alternatively, many will allow you to advertise their products in different ways. When you get an order and receive the money you can order the sign, and have it sent to your customer. Your profit is the difference in the price you charge and what you pay the supplier.

The thing about business signs is that they are the kind of items that need replacing or updating every now and again. But, they are something few business owners think about buying. That is until you mention doing so to them. Often, your asking them acts as a prompt and they end up realizing that they do actually need some signs and place an order with you.

Easy ways to contact potential customers

If you wanted to you could set up an online store. But, if that does not appeal, the other approach is to try to sell these items in person. Even in this day and age, business owners will speak to a salesperson for a few minutes. So, potentially, you could put together a small sample case and visit local industrial estates, shops, and other business locations.

It is good practice to order a few of the items you are planning to sell to check the quality. So, potentially you will not have to spend any more money to put together samples to show potential clients.
